Little Princesses Grow Up: She Turned One on September 9th Sonam Yangden Wangchuck, daughter of the queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan and of kings Jigme Khesar, and two new photos of the little girl have been published on the royal family’s official social media pages.

Officially presented to the world three months after her birth, the little girl has two highly symbolic names that mean respectively “longevity and fortune” and “prosperity and well-being”. She is the third daughter of the royals of Bhutan: in the family there are also the Crown Prince Jigme Namgyel7 years old, and the Prince Jigme Ugyen3. Only they, as males, will be able to ascend to the throne one day, and if others were to be born in the future, little Sonam, now third in line of succession, would be ousted from her place by any brothers.
