Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin proposed EIP-1559 in 2019. It involves burning part of the transaction fees and helps to reduce the volatility of the gas price.
Earlier, the third-largest Ethereum pool, F2Pool, supported EIP-1559. The operators of the largest and second-largest pools, Sparkpool and Bitfly, spoke out against.
As a reminder, in February 2021, Jihan Wu sold the BTC.com mining pool to the online lottery service provider 500.com Limited, which he received as compensation.
