Traveling to Europe, Jill Biden made a stop in Ukraine. The wife of the US president remained on Ukrainian territory for a couple of hours on Mother’s Day he met Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife, First Lady Olena Zelenskyto which he donated a bouquet of flowers and brought the support of the American presidency.
A visit that remained secret until the end. Jill Biden and Olena Zelensky were escorted by car to the town of Uzhhorodon the border with Slovakia and Hungary, where they have visited a public school now converted into accommodation and shelter for 163 Ukrainian displaced persons, of whom 47 are children. The two first ladies joined some of the little guests of the structure, helping them with artistic jobs alongside the mothers.
The White House has made it known over the past few weeks Olena Zelensky and Jill Biden entertained a correspondence. Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Joe Biden’s wife for what he judged a very brave act. “We know how much force it takes to come to Ukraine with a war going on,” commented the Ukrainian president.
