Cameras show Ms Biden walking through the crowded chambers of the House as she approaches Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris. The pair can be seen holding hands before locking lips during a brief kiss in what appears to be a very warm greeting, comments the Skynews.
It didn’t take long for the ‘bombshell’ to go off.. and comments online ‘rained down’, with social media users flocking to Twitter to express their shock at the “strange” moment. “Does anyone else think it was weird that Kamala’s husband kissed Jill Biden on the lips?” one wrote, with someone else adding: “I’m not the only one who saw First Lady Jill Biden kiss Second Mr. Douglas Emhoff right??” “What the heck. Jill Biden and Douglas Emhoff just kissed. (This is her husband Kamala) weird stuff,” said a third.
After the awkward kiss, the American’s annual speech began President, Joe Biden, on the State of the Union, in which he outlined what 2023 will look like for the United States, covering key areas such as the economy, climate change, the war in Ukraine and infrastructure.
The 80-year-old has continued to highlight his administration’s economic achievements since taking over from Donald Trump in 2021. In a post earlier in the day, Trump said he would do “by popular demand” the live-streams of reaction to Mr. Trump’s speech. Biden, on Truth Social.
