Jiu-jitsu fighter shot at show will be veiled and buried this Monday

The body of the eighth jiu-jitsu world champion Leandro Lo will be veiled and buried this Monday (8) at Morumby Cemetery, in the South Zone of Sao Paulo .

The athlete had brain death announced this Sunday (7) after being shot in the head during a concert.

According to the cemetery administration, the fighter’s burial is scheduled for 4 pm this Monday.

Still according to the cemetery, Lo’s family did not provide details about the wake.

As reported by the police to CNN , Lo was at an event at the Syrian Club when he was teased in the middle of an argument. At first, the fighter took down the provocateur, who then left the place and returned shooting.

In addition to firing the shots, the shooter also kicked the fighter twice, when the victim was already unconscious on the ground, and then left the scene.

The gunman was identified as military police officer Henrique Otávio Oliveira Velozo. Also on Sunday, he presented himself to the Military Police Internal Affairs.

After giving evidence at the police station, Velozo will be sent to the Romão Gomes Prison, where he will serve a 30-day temporary detention and remain at the disposal of justice.
