Joana Brito, actress who gave voice to Ghibli and Disney characters, dies at 79

The world of entertainment in Mexico has dressed in mourning after the death of the renowned actress Joana Brito, who also worked as a voice actress.

The news was confirmed by the National Association of Actors (ANDA) via Twitter. Friends, colleagues and followers have already sent their condolences to the actress’s family.

Joana was known for her participation in Mexican soap operas such as Wild Heart, Sidekicks to the rescue, Teresa and My darlingto mention a few.

Joana also worked as an actress in theater and studied Acting and Stage Direction at the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL). Additionally, she voiced herself to characters like Koharu Utatane in Naruto and naruto shippuden; Kaio-sama, from the east in Dragon Ball Z; to Mama Odie, in Princess and the Frog; Master Finster, in Playtime; Morgana, in The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea; among other cartoons.

So far the cause of her death is unknown, although some media outlets in Mexico reported that the actress had been dealing with health problems for years.
