Biden and Zelensky last spoke last month and “it didn’t go well,” a Ukrainian official told CNN international at the time, amid disagreements over the “risk levels” of a Russian attack.

The White House, however, disputed this claim, warning that anonymous sources were “leaking lies”. They claimed that Biden warned Zelensky that an imminent invasion was a “clear possibility”.

Biden and Putin held a call on Saturday

The presidents of the United States and Russia, Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin, made a phone call this Saturday (12). Growing concerns about a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine dominate Western governments.

Biden warned Putin that the United States and its allies would respond “decisively and impose swift and severe consequences” on Russia if Putin decides to invade Ukraine. The call began at 1:04 pm ET and ended more than an hour later at 2:06 pm, a White House official said.
