Joe Biden meets with Ursula von der Leyen on second day of EU summit

US President Joe Biden will meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the second day of the summit dedicated to the war in Ukraine, which is now in its second month.

The meeting is expected to focus on the negotiated agreement for new deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US to the EU, as part of Europe’s effort to reduce and terminate its energy dependence on Russia in the future.

Biden in Poland

US President Joe Biden will travel to the city of Zetsno, about 80 kilometers from the border of war-torn Ukraine, today as part of his visit to Poland, the second stop of his trip to Europe, the White House announced on Thursday.

Upon his arrival from Brussels, he will be received by his Polish counterpart Andrei Duda, to brief him on the humanitarian response, assistance to refugees who have fled Ukraine due to the Russian invasion, while Biden will see US troops placed in the east wing of NATO, the US presidency clarified in a press release issued.
