The president of USA, Joe Bidenstated on Friday night (23/9) that the Russian referendums on annexation of four occupied regions of Ukraine it is a fraud and it has spread that Washington “will never recognize Ukrainian territory as anything but part of Ukraine”.
In his announcement, Biden emphasized that the US will work with its allies and partners to impose tough economic sanctions on Russia.
Meanwhile, the United States is ready to impose additional economic costs on Russia, in cooperation with its allies, if Moscow moves forward with annexing Ukrainian territory, the White House said.
Russia is planning “mock referendums,” as the West calls them, in parts of eastern Ukraine, which is seen as a step toward annexing those territories.
“We know (the results) will be falsified”White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre said.
The G7, in a joint statement issued with the White House, condemned these “fake referendums” in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia, stressing that they violate the United Nations Charter and international law.
The seven most industrialized countries called on the international community to categorically reject the referendums, saying they were ready to impose further sanctions on Russia.
