Joe Biden told White House reporters he wanted to see the outcome of the New York governor investigation Andrew Cuomo, who is under intense pressure to resign following a series of allegations of sexual harassment.
Asked if Cuomo should resign, the US president told reporters: “I think the investigation is ongoing and we have to see what it will show us.”
The Democratic governor of New York is facing allegations of sexual harassment by seven young women and is coming under increasing pressure after revelations that his administration may have deliberately underestimated the number of deaths due to Covid-19 food in nursing homes in the State.
On Friday, two New York Democratic senators, Chuck Sumer and Kirsten Gilibrand, and several elected members of Congress, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, called on Cuomo to resign.
