John Legend says Kanye West began to change after his mother’s death

Singer John Legend, 46, spoke about the contradictory behavior of rapper Kanye West, 47, and opined on what would have caused the artist’s “fall”.

The interpreter of “All of Me” was one of the first famous to sign with Kanye’s label “Good Music” in the early 2000s.

In an interview with The Times, John Legend said: “At that time, Kanye was very passionate, very talented, and had great dreams not only for himself, but also for all the people around him. He had so much optimism, so much creativity. It’s sad, sometimes shocking, seeing how much he has arrived.”

The relationship of John and Kanye, who now prefers to be called Ye’s, broke out by 2022 due to the rapper’s support to US President Donald Trump.

The singer points to the death of Kanye West’s mother, Donda, as the beginning of the change in her behavior.

“I saw no indication of what we are seeing now, its obsessions with anti -Semitism, prejudice against black people, and it is sad to see its degeneration,” he explained.

“I don’t think we are qualified to make a psychological assessment of it, but after your mother passed away in 2007 there was definitely a change. His fall started there and seems to have recently accelerated.”

John is a great critic of Trump and called the president “crazy dictator” by commenting on Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s case, who was arrested at his home in Maryland and sent to an arrest in El Salvador in March.

“It’s extremely dangerous [viver] In the United States now. If the government can kidnap you, take you to a foreign prison and say that there is no way to bring you back, the rule of law means nothing. If you can simply be abducted by the government without any evidence or proof, then the whole system is over, and we are living under the whims of a crazy dictator, ”he said.

“That’s what is before us now. We are a nation of entrepreneurs. Who will want to start a business here, or come to study at a university in our country, if you do not have the protection of the rule of law?”

The star said she will continue to support the Democratic Party and believes it will take a “outsider” to bring the party back to the White House.

“In general, democrats win with someone who is not part of Washington’s Estabishment, such as Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. I think that’s what will be needed, an outsider, to make it.”
