The singer John Mayer 47, published a message about the wildfires that devastated Southern California . On social media, he took advantage of the moment to say he was safe and share the “most valuable item” that belongs to him.
“This is the most valuable thing I own. It is a folder of photos of my father, covering his life from baby, educator, husband and father. It is the only evidence of his life that will exist over time”, he mentions.
He then reflects: “When you hear someone say they lost everything in a fire, that’s a lot of it, if not all of it. Those who say they will be fine still have their folders and their albums. Those who are inconsolable have lost them. Close behind the immeasurable loss of life is the loss of proof of life.”
In the caption, he also mentions that he doesn’t usually pray, but that he would talk to God for all the people who lost valuable items like these after the fires. “It’s not about art and collectibles. There are the photos, the letters, the class rings, the glasses and the things we keep to remind us that those we love were here.”
“May those who have lost so much find some hope and support from their family and friends. Stay safe, take care of yourselves and each other, and trust that humanity and all that it entails, although it is sometimes difficult to see, is alive and well. This is truly devastating”, he finally mentions.
In a comment on the post, he also makes it clear that he is safe and says that he considers himself “extraordinarily lucky” to still have his home in Los Angeles, keeping his documents and valuable items close by.
In recent days, several celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Adam Brody and his wife Leighton Meester were affected and lost their homes in the fires in the United States.
