John McAfee: “I lost all my cryptocurrencies, but I don’t regret anything”

Outrageous American businessman John McAffe is awaiting extradition to the United States in a prison in Spain. According to him, he lost all his fortune in cryptocurrencies.

McAfee was arrested in Spain in October 2020. In America, he faces a trial on charges of tax evasion, money laundering and market manipulation. In the period from 2014 to 2018, the entrepreneur participated in the promotion of several ICOs, acted as a consultant on various cryptocurrency projects and made a profit from trading digital assets. However, as prosecutors say, he has never declared these additional incomes.

Despite being held in a Spanish prison, McAfee writes quite frequently on the social network Twitter. In one of the last messages, he said that he had no cryptocurrencies left.

“The US authorities think I have hidden my cryptocurrencies. I wish it were so, but they all went into the hands of my team (you may not believe), and all the remaining assets were confiscated. All my friends disappeared to avoid being charged with aiding crimes. I do not have anything. And yet I do not regret anything “, – wrote McAfee.

The businessman believes that his persecution by the American authorities is dictated by political motives. In 2018, he announced that he would run for president of the United States and expose IRS corruption. Two months later, he was charged with tax evasion.

Recall that in 2017, McAfee announced that by 2020 the rate of the first cryptocurrency will grow to $ 500,000, and if this does not happen, then he is ready to cut off and eat his own genitals. Subsequently, he increased the bid to $ 1 million. When his expectations were not met, the founder of the antivirus firm McAfee laughed at his subscribers and announced his forecast as “delusional.”
