John Travolta remembers dancing with Princess Diana: “It was like a fairy tale”

John Travolta will never forget his dance with her Princess Diana in 1985 at the White House, at a dinner hosted by then-US President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan.

The 67-year-old actor recalled these special moments in an interview with Esquire Mexico and confessed that he had not prepared to dance with the Princess of Wales. “I did not expect to be asked to dance with her. “I had the enormous privilege and honor of doing it and I thought: There must be a reason I do this and I better give it my all,” he revealed, according to People.

“That meant guiding the dance and making sure we had fun. That was the easy part but just the fact that I had to greet Diana properly, confidently and ask her to dance, was a difficult job. “

For John Travolta, this experience was like a “fairy tale” that would be remembered for decades to come. “Think of the setting. We were in the White House. It was midnight. The scene is like a dream. I approach her, rest her elbow, invite her to a dance“, he said. “He turns around and gives me that captivating smile, a little sad, and accepts my invitation. And then we danced together like it was a fairy tale “.

“Who would have thought that something like this would happen to him one day? I was smart enough to keep it in my memory as a very special, magical moment “, he added.

The star has previously revealed that it was Nancy Reagan who told him that Princess Diana wanted to dance with him during an interview on Dutch television.
