John Travolta’s life lesson to his 10-year-old son

The love life of John Travolta, 67, was marked by two tragedies: in 2009 his sixteen year old son died of the actor, Jett, while last year, in July, his wife (and colleague) Kelly Preston passed away, carried away by breast cancer. They were the iron couple from Hollywood, they had been together for 29 years, and they had 3 children, Jett, Ella and Benjamin.

Host of Kevin Hart’s TV talk show, “Hart to Heart,” John Travolta told of a crucial episode following the death of Kelly Preston. On that occasion, in fact, the American actor had to deal with the son Ben, 10 years old, a conversation focused on the theme of death.

As he explained in front of the show’s cameras, “Ben once told me: “Now that mom is dead, I’m afraid it can happen to you too”. And I said to him, “Ben, because you love sincerity, I’ll tell you the truth about life. Nobody knows when people will die. Your brother Jett left at 16. Too young. And your mother died at 57, too soon. But who can know? I too could die tomorrow. Just as it could happen to you and anyone else. Therefore, death must be accepted as an integral part of life. We cannot know what our hour will be. You have to do everything to try to live as long as possible. You have to try to always give the best of yourself», The actor stressed, confiding to his son that he intends to live for at least another thirty years. Alongside Ben and Ella Bleu, the second child with Kelly Preston.
