Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck release new album together

After a long legal dispute with Amber Heard, his ex-wife, Johnny Depp launched this Friday (15) a new musical project together with guitarist Jeff Beck.

With thirteen tracks, the project was titled “18”, and is a mix of original compositions and covers by other artists, such as John Lennon and the Beach Boys.

“18” got its name from the feeling of joviality that the two artists felt in the construction of the project, according to Beck. “We joked about how we felt at 18 again, so that became the album title too.”

This isn’t the first musical venture by Depp, best known to the public for his film work. He is part of the band “Hollywood Vampires”, alongside Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, who have released two albums in their twelve years of activity so far.

Johnny Depp’s name made headlines in the early months of this year over a legal dispute with ex-wife Amber Heard, who publicly accused him of domestic violence. Depp filed a defamation suit against the actress, who also sued him for defamation.

The case, which had worldwide repercussion, was concluded with the verdict that both are responsible for defamation. Amber Heard will have to pay $10 million in damages and Depp, $2 million.
