A 1965 Mosrite Ventures II electric guitar owned by Johnny Ramone sold for almost $ 1 million at auction.
This particular musical instrument was for two decades the “basic guitar” of their legend Ramones and fortunately escaped theft in 1983, much of the punk rock band’s equipment.
The guitar was sold by Daniel Ray, who produced the Ramones album and wrote songs with the band. He had bought the guitar from Johnny when the Ramones broke up.
Boston-based RR Auction has raised $ 937,500 to acquire the legendary guitar.

According to the auction house, the Ramones guitarist bought the guitar in October 1977 to replace the previous blue Ventures II model, which had been stolen from a Sire Records van along with other instruments of the band in Chicago. The new guitar was modified before Johnny grabbed it.
In 1983, the Ramones were robbed once again in Los Angeles, but fortunately the Mosrite guitar was in his hotel room.
