Johnson: Britain raises defense spending to 2.5% of GDP

Britain’s defense spending will reach 2.5% of GDP by the end of this decade, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said today, speaking at the NATO summit in Madrid.

The British Prime Minister also said that Russia’s decision to leave Snake Island, a strategic outpost of the Black Sea, is a testament to Ukraine’s ability to retaliate.

“If you want evidence of the Ukrainians’ amazing ability to counterattack, overcome adversity and repel the Russians, then look at what just happened today on Snake Island, where Russia was again forced to cede territory,” Johnson said in an interview. Conference at the NATO Summit in Madrid.

“In the end, it will be impossible for Putin to contain a country that does not accept his sovereignty.”
