Johnson calls on EU to show ‘pragmatism and compromise’ on Northern Ireland

Boris Johnson called on the EU, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, to show “pragmatism and compromise” with the provisions on post-conflict Brexi for Northern Ireland.

Its prime minister Great Britain “He clearly expressed his desire for pragmatism and compromise on behalf of all, but stressed that the protection of the Good Friday (peace) agreement is of paramount importance,” said a Downing Street spokesman.

Johnson had a series of contacts with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and EU leaders, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel.
