Johnson & Johnson: Stops sales of sanitary ware in Russia

THE Johnson & Johnson announced that it is stopping all sales products hygiene and personal care in Russiadue to the war in Ukraine, but clarified that the ban does not apply to medicines and pharmaceuticals in general.

According to Reuters, J&J noted that it will continue to supply the Russian market with medicines and medical devicesas well as these species are not included in the sanctions imposed by the West. The company, the 1% of sales whose comes from Russiahad previously announced that 50% of its activity in Russia is related to pharmaceuticals.

It is noted that the company AbbViewhich owns Botox anti-wrinkle treatment, announced earlier this month that it was temporarily suspending operations in Russia, where it would no longer have any cosmetic products.

Other companies, such as the giants PepsiCo Inc, Procter & Gamble Co and Nestle SA, have stated that they will maintain a presence in Russia, where they will provide only basic food and hygiene items. The major pharmaceutical companies Eli Lilly & Co and Pfizer intend to withdraw their investments from Russia but have pledged to continue supplying the Russian market with medicines and medical equipment.
