The British MPs who have been sanctioned by Russia should consider these sanctions as an honorary distinction, said today the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it was imposing personal sanctions on 287 members of the British Parliament and barring them from entering the country.
“All of them, all 287, should consider this an honor,” Johnson told reporters.
Asked by the BBC if he agreed to use British weapons against targets such as refineries inside Russia, the British prime minister later said that Ukraine had the right to defend itself.
“We do not want the crisis to escalate beyond Ukraine’s borders,” he said.
“But the Ukrainians clearly, as he said [υπουργός Ενόπλων Δυνάμεων] James (Hippie), they have the right to defend themselves. “They are being attacked from the ground inside Russia; they have the right to defend and defend themselves.”
