Johnson Tells Cabinet That “No Deal” Remains the Most Likely Outcome

A spokesman for Boris Johnson, the UK prime minister, said on Tuesday that the prime minister has once again emphasized to his cabinet his desire to reach a trade deal with the European Union, but not at any cost, Reuters reported.

The prime minister reiterated to the cabinet that a “no-deal” with the European Union remains the most likely scenario.

Market reaction

Despite the above, the pound is among the best performing currencies on Tuesday. GBP / USD rises and is approaching 1.3400, while EUR / GBP went from close to 0.9160 to fall to 0.0960.
