G7 leaders agreed today that the world should step up financial pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin in every possible way, Downing Street said after a video conference of the group of seven most industrialized countries, which was also attended by the British Prime Minister. Boris Johnson.
Johnson said people “need to do more and move faster” to support Ukraine.
According to the prime minister’s office, Johnson said Ukraine needed military equipment that “would allow it not only to hold its ground but also to reclaim territory”.
The British Prime Minister also noted that the G7 partners should intensify their diplomatic pressure on those countries that do not put pressure on Putin’s war machine. He also agreed with his counterparts that more needs to be done to support agricultural exports from Ukraine and for wider, global food security.
