Joint Russia-Belarus military gymnasiums with tactical nuclear weapons

The Russian and Belarusian regular nuclear forces jointly train, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today. As emphasized, the high schools aim to ensure the readiness of the military personnel and equipment of the two countries to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity. “During the exercise, issues of joint training of units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons in combat will be considered,” the Defense Ministry said. Russian President Vladimir Putin last month ordered the armed forces to practice developing tactical nuclear weapons, following what Moscow described as threats from France, Britain and the United States.
