Presenter Jojo Todynho chose a bold look for the technical rehearsal that Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel did, on Sunday (7), in Marquês de Sapucaí.
The influencer from Bangu, a neighborhood in the west of Rio de Janeiro neighboring the one that gives the association its name, chose yellow pants that showed off her butt and a green thong bikini, as well as a green top and headpiece. The entire costume was studded with shiny stones.
On Instagram, Jojo gave a hint of the possible inspiration for the look in the colors of the Brazilian flag. Mocidade will have cashew as its plot and will explore, among other things, the connection of this legitimately Brazilian fruit with national culture.
The parade, signed by carnival artist Marcus Ferreira (champion for Viradouro in 2020), seeks to revive the tropicalist vein so present in his parades from the 1980s and 1990s.
“It’s Tropicália, tropicana, cajuína”, wrote the singer in the caption of the publication in which she showed her outfit for the shoot.
Jojo returns to Mocidade this year after marching for Beija-Flor de Nilópolis for a few years, which is the godmother of Padre Miguel's association.
Samba da Mocidade went viral in Rio
Mocidade Independente is at the top of the “Viral Rio de Janeiro BR” playlist on the music streaming service, ahead of Oruam, Felipe Ret and MC Cabelinho.
The fact that samba leads “Viral Rio de Janeiro BR” does not mean that it is the most listened to music in the city.
According to Spotify, the playlist shows the songs that are most popular on the platform, they analyze the data only from that specific region and follow three criteria:
- If a song's streams have increased recently;
- How often do people share this song;
- How many people discovered this song recently.
Another school that had already occupied the position in recent weeks was Imperatriz Leopoldinense, current champion of the Rio revelry, with its samba-plot “With luck turned to the moon, according to the testament of the gypsy Esmeralda”.
Unidos de Padre Miguel, a school that shares the neighborhood with Mocidade, reached 11th place on the playlist with its samba “O Redentor do Sertão”. She parades in the second division of Rio's festivities, the Ouro Series.
