“Joker” receives 11-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival

The movie “Joker: Delirium for Two” was first shown at the Venice Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion, the competition’s top prize, and was applauded for 11 minutes after the session on Wednesday (4), according to the press at the scene.

The protagonists Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga as well as director Todd Phillips, were present at the screening room. See the first reactions to the film. Before the screening, they held a press conference and walked the red carpet at the event.

“Joker: Delirium for Two” hits Brazilian cinemas on October 3rd . The American filmmaker Todd Phillips responsible for the first film, returns to direct.

In the plot, Arthur Fleck is institutionalized in Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as the Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only finds true love, but also finds the music that has always been inside him.

In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, names like Zazie Beetz (“Deadpool 2”), Catherine Keener (“Being John Malkovich”), Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”) and Jacob Lofland (“Bandit Love”) make up the cast.
