After living an advertising tycoon in “Mad Men”, a researcher in “Fargo” and a technology billionaire in “The Morning Show”, Jon Hamm now gives life to a newly demoted funds manager in “Your friends and neighbors” series that opens this Friday (11) in AppleTV+ .
In the plot, Andrew Cooper is unemployed and begins to rob the neighbors’ homes in the rich neighborhood of Westmont Village to try to maintain social status. In an interview with CNN the star talked about the character and the return to the screens.
“He is in a limbo quickly and, instead of stopping safely, he goes on, which is a bad idea for him, but a lot of fun for the viewer,” he says.
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years. (…) I think the series is madly fun . We have an amazing cast and script. (…) There are many elements in this series. Has comedy, action, romance and drama . I was happy to be able to do all this, ”he said.
The actor also revealed that advice would give Andrew Cooper: “You think you will be able to deal with it, these choices, but you probably won’t. There are better ways to solve these problems than you have chosen.”
In addition to Hamm, names like Amanda Peet (“Suddenly it’s love”) and Olivia Munn (“The Newsroom”) also make up the cast. THE CNN the actresses highlighted the themes addressed in production.
“I loved that it is a world where people are doing their best to maintain social status. You see how rich these people are and yet, nothing is never the suffiers. Amanda highlighted his character’s arc: “I thought it was really cool that we started the series when Mel is having an affair. It’s kind of sexy even though she is close to 50.
