Jordan leader King Abdullah II said he maintains a “firm position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank” and reinforced this at a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington.
Trump reaffirmed the plan on Tuesday for the US to take control of Gaza and resume Palestinians. The speech was made during a press conference with King Abdullah II.
The leader of Jordan did not fully reject the president’s idea during the press conference, although he advised that they “should not precipitate” and indicated that alternative proposals would be presented.
Earlier, he said he would receive 2,000 sick children from Gaza, including cancer patients
In an X post later on Tuesday, Abdullah II stated that there is a “unified Arab position” against the displacement of Palestinians.
“Rebuild Gaza without moving the Palestinians and addressing the terrible humanitarian situation should be everyone’s priority,” he said.
The king classified conversations with Trump as “constructive.”
Trump’s plan would involve Jordan and Egypt accept millions of Palestinian refugees, an idea to which both countries resisted.
