Extensive power outages have occurred today in many Jordanian cities, as snow has covered much of the country.
Authorities say more than 20 cities across the country have been affected, with blackouts attributed to falling tree trunks due to severe weather.
The work of the workshops to restore electricity is extremely difficult in the current circumstances, it is underlined, with the Jordanian authorities stating that about 1,300 employees with 400 construction machines are making efforts to solve the problems.
According to the Jordanian meteorological service, the height of snow in the mountainous region of Ras Munif (in the north) reached 34 cm, while in the capital Amman at 22 cm.
Meteorologists predict that the snowfall will be limited in the next few hours only in the southern part of Jordan.
