Journalist and broadcaster Cid Moreira died this Thursday morning (3), at Santa Teresa Hospital, in Petrópolis, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro.
Cid Moreira was born in São Paulo, in the city of Taubaté, on September 27, 1927.
According to Grupo Globo, the presenter was in charge of Jornal Nacional for 26 years, since the news debut in September 1969.
The then announcer moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1951. In the 1950s, Cid Moreira had his first experiences on television, when he began presenting live commercials on notorious programs of the time.
It was only in 1963 that he made his debut as a news presenter, on TV Rio, where he commanded “Jornal de Vanguarda”.
On TV Globo, Cid Moreira presented Jornal da Globo and Fantástico, but became known for almost three decades on the Jornal Nacional bench.
