Journalist Edilma Neiva Ibiapina died last Wednesday (17) in the Federal District due to complications caused by dengue. The journalist had been hospitalized since Saturday (13).
Edilma was diagnosed with the disease on April 10, her 77th birthday. On the same day, she returned home, but soon after was admitted to the ICU. She was the widow of fellow journalist Wilson Ibiapina, who died in May 2023.
The journalist was the first female reporter at “TV Globo” Brasília and the first to report for “Jornal Nacional”.
She was a presenter at “DFTV”, a reporter for “Bom Dia Brasil”, “Jornal Hoje” and “Jornal Nacional”, in addition to having worked as a text editor.
Edilma Neiva Ibiapina also worked for outlets such as “Bandeirantes”, “Rede Manchete”, “SBT” and TV do Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ).
