Journalist Susana Naspolini dies of cancer at 49

The journalist Susana Naspolini , from TV Globo, died this Tuesday (25) at the age of 49, in São Paulo. Naspolini was in cancer treatment . The journalist was married to sports narrator Maurício Torres, who died in 2014, and leaves her 16-year-old daughter Julia Naspolini.

The information was confirmed by her daughter on the journalist’s Instagram profile. TV Globo also published the information on its social networks.

Susana was diagnosed with cancer of the cells of the lymphatic system for the first time at age 18. At 37, he was diagnosed with breast cancer and then a thyroid cancer. In 2016, she had breast cancer again, which in 2020 had spread to her bones.

Born in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, the reporter became nationally known for the “RJ Móvel” segment, published by Globo’s local newspaper in Rio de Janeiro. With great popular appeal, the reporter presents common problems in the most diverse neighborhoods of the Rio de Janeiro capital.

With an irreverent way, Susana demanded, in an incisive way and with good humor, the resolution of issues that significantly affect the lives of the population.

Career

Before arriving at the Rio da Globo editorial, the journalist had stints at RBS, a Globo affiliate in the south of the country, where she presented the newspaper “Bom Dia Santa Catarina”, in Criciúma. She also lived in Joinville (SC), where she was editor-in-chief and presenter of the local newspaper, and in São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo, where she was a reporter for TV Vanguarda, an affiliate of Globo. In 2002, the journalist moved to Rio de Janeiro. She presented “RJ Móvel” for the first time in 2008.

The journalist left work in 2009, 2016 and 2020 to undergo cancer treatment in São Paulo. In 2019, she released the book “Eu Chocho Ser Feliz”, an autobiography that emphasizes the fight against cancer and optimism.

“We live in a dynamic world,” he writes, “changes happen with or without our participation. It is up to us, only us, to choose how we will behave”.
