«Journey into the Great Beauty»: culture on TV strikes again

The first episode, dedicated to the treasures of the Vatican, aired a year ago before we realized how much culture, especially on television, does well during a period of confinement, leading us to appreciate beautiful things and to banish the thought of the ugly ones. Now, with an extra degree of awareness and the desire to hold the beauties of our Italy even stronger, Journey into the Great Beauty back to Canale 5 to show us the wonders of our artistic heritage through a fresh, captivating language, far from any form of verbiage.

He is always leading this extraordinary journey that crosses history and reconstructs the mosaic of our experiences, Cesare Bocci, the actor lent to the management who, with grace and curiosity, retraces the stages of the past inherited from the present, collecting the testimonies of experts and scholars that help us understand something more of the works and beauties that belong to our country. Made in collaboration with RealLife Television, Mediaset’s popular special stands out for the suggestion of the shooting, for the tight editing and for the interlocking of the narration which, with linear simplicity, leads us by the hand through the main themes of the episode, such as the Nativity and the childhood of Jesus told by the Art in that of 29 December.

Together with the images of a Rome immersed in the darkness of the night and illuminated by the headlights projected on the monumental facade of Santa Maria Maggiore and the details of a Veiled Christ that shines in all its intrinsic strength, Cesare Bocci, who presents himself more like a Dante than a Virgil, holds the narration together like a golden thread that ensures that its fibers do not disperse, ensuring the viewer the pleasure of a pure vision, enriched by some off-script observations that give the program an even greater adherence to the truth. The next appointments, scheduled between January and February, will revolve, among others, around Venice, Leonardo Da Vinci, Rome and Assisi, giving us hope that Journey into the Great Beauty do not leave us here and come back every year to remind us that Canale 5 is also able to offer an excellent public service.
