JPMorgan says 2022 will be a year of complete global recovery

The US investment bank JPMorgan predicted on Wednesday (8) that 2022 will be the year that will mark the end of the coronavirus pandemic and will see a complete global economic recovery.

The bank’s outlook report for next year says the new vaccines and therapies will result in a “strong cyclical recovery, a return to global mobility and a release of pent-up consumer demand.”

Marko Kolanovic, chief global market strategist and one of JP Morgan’s global research leaders, said the bank expects the US S&P 500 index to rise by nearly 8% to 5,050 points, an 18% jump in market shares emerging markets and ten-year Treasury yields – an important parameter of global borrowing costs – up to 2.25% by the end of 2022.

“Our vision is that 2022 will be the year of a full global recovery, an end to the pandemic and a return to the normal economic and market conditions we had before the Covid-19 outbreak,” said Kolanovic.
