Jude Law will play Vladimir Putin in film, says website

The British actor Jude Law 52, revealed, in an interview with Deadline, that will play Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the new film by Olivier Assayas, entitled “The Wizard of the Kremlin”.

“I haven’t started working on it yet. I mean, I’ve started, but at the moment it feels like an Everest to climb, so I’m at the bottom looking up and thinking, ‘Oh Christ, what did I say?'”, he said.

The plot will be based in the best-selling book of the same name by Giuliano da Empoli. The author recounts an imaginary meeting in Moscow with the enigmatic Vadim Baranov, once an artist, reality show producer and Vladimir Putin’s eminence grise.

Names like Paul Dano (“Black Blood” and “The Fabelmans”), Alicia Vikander (“Ex_Machina: Artificial Instinct” and “Tomb Raider: The Beginning”) and Zach Galifianakis (“The Hangover!”) also in the cast, according to Variety.

More information about “The Wizard of the Kremlin”, such as the start of recording and the premiere date, has not yet been released.
