Judge Gabriela Hardt asked for her removal from her post on the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba and may leave command of Lava Jato actions.
She has held the position of substitute judge in the capital of Paraná since the times of Sergio Moro. However, last week, she took over the Lava Jato cases after the decision of the Regional Court of the Fourth Region (TRF-4) to remove Judge Eduardo Appio, holder of the rod, from his duties.
Hardt’s departure is still undecided. She expressed an interest in running for removal along with other judges. According to the TRF-4, the internal contest is still in progress and only after its conclusion will it be possible to know if Hardt will be removed or not.
Depending on the result of the contest, it can be transferred to another branch of the Federal Court of the Fourth Region: in Rio Grande do Sul, in Santa Catarina or in Paraná itself.
Hardt has until Monday (29) to withdraw the request if it is in his interest. After this period, the process will be judged by the TRF-4 Board of Directors. “Only after the decision has been judged by the collegiate will it remain sanctioned, then, eventual removal”, clarified the court.
