Jorge Ignacio “N” and Diana Elizabeth “N”, parents of Marlon Botas, were recently released once again, accused of the alleged crime of omission of assistance in the case of the homicide committed by their son against Monse Bendimes.
Marlon Botas brutally beat Monserrat Bendimes Roldán in April 2021. The girl was hospitalized and died on April 23, 2021 due to various fractures to the neck, arms, and head trauma that culminated in brain death.
The Veracruz Attorney General’s Office reported that a control judge granted conditional suspension of the process that is being followed against Jorge Ignacio “N” and Diana Elizabeth “N” for the crime of omission of assistance, according to The financialimposing the following conditions that must be observed.
Reside in a certain place. Refrain from consuming drugs and must submit the corresponding studies to the State Unit for Supervision of Precautionary Measures and Conditional Suspension of the Process (UMECA) on a monthly basis. Undergo psychological treatment. Sign every 15 days in the UMECA. Not own weapons. Refrain from traveling abroad having to deliver the passport and visa. During these two years they cannot maintain contact with the family of Monserrat Bendimes Roldán.
However, last April they had already been released by a federal judge, who stated that he did not find sufficient evidence to convict them of the crime of femicide, but just as they were leaving prison they were apprehended again under the crime of omission of help.
This omission of help happened because, apparently, Marlon’s parents did not call the emergency services to attend to Monse’s injuries, but instead took more than an hour to transfer her to a private clinic to be treated, which was very it probably aggravated his state of health.
Since the victim’s family made this unfortunate story public, different protests and demonstrations have been organized in support of the case and we have no doubt that they will become active again now that the murderer’s parents have been released again.
