Judge Maria do Socorro de Sousa Afonso e Silva, who prevented the abortion of a 13 -year -old girl who became pregnant after being raped, was dismissed by decision of the National Council of Justice (CNJ). The case was tried last Friday (16).

The plenary decided to establish disciplinary administrative proceedings against the magistrates. The judge will be of its duties until the process is completed. In September 2024, the CNJ summoned the judge and the judge to provide information about the case.
Repercussion the case
The case was investigated by the CNJ from a complaint made by the website “Intercept Brasil”, which said the victim would have decided to interrupt the pregnancy when he was 18 weeks old.
