Juliana Paes revives Maya, from “Caminho das Indias”, in an Indian trend

The actress published a video on her Instagram profile, this Saturday (4), wearing make-up and wearing the plot's characteristic costumes.

“Was this where they asked for Maya to come back?”, wrote Paes in the caption of the publication. “I never thought that ASOKA MAKEUP would be so difficult to do, guys! That it? But what do you ask that I don’t do, right?”, he added.

In the hugely successful soap opera, Juliana Paes played Maya Meetha, an Indian woman belonging to a traditional merchant family. In the plot, she stars alongside Rodrigo Lombardi (Raj Ananda) and Márcio Garcia (Bahuan Sundrani).

What is the “Asoka makeup” trend?

To the sound of the song “San Sanana”, by singer Akla Yagnik, and inspired by the 2001 drama film “Asoka”, influencers and content creators from all over the world began producing South Asian makeup tutorials, creating the trend, or trendstitled “Asoka Makeup ”.

All of this is done while they dub and perform a sequence of typical Indian movements in front of the cameras. Recently, the influencer Camila Pudding 27, shared his own version of the trend and it went viral on the platform, racking up more than 200 million views on the video.
