Jumbo issued the following announcement following the noise caused by the Workers ‘Unions’ complaints about the working conditions in the company and the new labor regulations:
Despite the adverse conditions, Jumbo continues its successful course, far from “micropolitical games”, faithful to its principles and values, having as valuable allies its customers and employees, with whom it has, throughout its years of operation. Jumbo categorically denies all allegations made in various trade union leaflets about the alleged existence of illegal provisions in its Rules of Procedure and states that all its provisions are in line with the provisions of applicable law. especially as they would not have been approved by the State, especially as regards the alleged right of the company to cut ¼ the monthly salary of its employees, everyone knows that, apart from its outrageous claim, this is neither true nor could it ever be based on the Jumbo Code of Values and Principles.
Finally, in an effort to put an end to the spirit of misinformation, Jumbo states categorically that it has never requested that its stores be open on Sunday, December 26, as well as on Sundays in general, with the exception of areas where its competitors.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year “.
