Nine people involved in a criminal faction were arrested by the Rio Grande do Norte Civil and Military Police on the morning of Wednesday (2). They are investigated for drug trafficking.
According to the investigation, a security company, located in Alexandria, in the interior of the state, was being used to distribute narcotics and commit other crimes.
In total, 20 warrants issued by the court were served, eight in prison and 12 search and seizure. During the demarches, a person was caught in the act. The actions took place in the municipalities of Alexandria, Natal, Serra Negra do Norte and Serra do Mel.
At the security company, which served as a facade for illicit activities, two firearms, ammunition and drugs were seized. The owner of the establishment was also arrested.
The names of those involved in the criminal scheme were not disclosed. According to police, the gang had drawn a drug distribution route that passed through several potiguares municipalities, until reaching Alexandria. Through investigations, traffic managers residing in the state capital and Serra do Mel, in the interior.
The operation was named “Floripa”, a code name used by the criminal group to refer to the drug sold, which would be a drug with the highest degree of purity. The court ordered the closure of the security company, which was acting as a facade for the crime.
