The Justice of Rio de Janeiro determined that the preventive arrest warrant of the offender Rogério de Andrade, target of Operation Caligula, be included in the red broadcast of Interpol. The decision of Judge Bruno Monteiro Ruliere, of the 1st Specialized Rod of the Court of Justice, was published this Tuesday (10) and responds to a request from the State Public Ministry.
According to the MP, Rogério de Andrade has been out of Brazil since April 23 this year – when he left for San José, Costa Rica – despite having a return date scheduled for May 7. The inclusion in the international list of fugitives allows the offender to be arrested outside Brazil.
Prosecutor Diogo Erthal said, at a press conference, that the MPRJ is also working on the hypothesis that Rogério de Andrade, nephew of the bicheiro Castor de Andrade, is the mastermind behind the murder of councilwoman Marielle Franco, in 2018. but is considered a fugitive.
According to the judge, the extradition process will be carried out immediately after Rogério is captured. In the text, the magistrate determines the dispatch ex officio to the Regional Superintendence of the Federal Police – SR/DPF of the State of Rio de Janeiro, forwarding the arrest warrant for Andrade for compliance and for publication of the red broadcast in the international system of Interpol.
THE CNN contacted the Federal Police to find out if the name of the offender had already been included in the system and is awaiting a response.
Operation Caligula, launched this Tuesday (10), pointed out the offender as the leader of an armed criminal organization that exploits games of chance, including the animal game.
