Justice launches website for reporting crimes against children and adolescents on social media

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) launched this Monday (16) the program “De boa na rede”. The objective is to combat cybercrimes against children and adolescents and receive reports in partnership with social media platforms and streaming services.

The site brings together parental control tools, information on conduct that constitutes a crime and tutorials on how to monitor access on the different operating systems available.

The initiative teaches, for example, step by step how those responsible can monitor what is accessed on the internet by children and teenagers.

“We do not blame companies or technologies, but there are crimes being committed in these spaces, which, in part, have become an arena of war”, highlighted the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino.

The Ministry of Justice explained that all companies participated in the creation of the content and were represented at the launch. They are: Facebook, Instagram, Kwai, TikTok, Google, YouTube, Discord and X (formerly Twitter).

Complaints received on the portal will be sent to Cyber Crime Suppression police stations, which exist in the states, depending on each complaint.

“None of us would let our children go to a dark street, where there are groomers and no one knows what is happening, but that is what happens today on the internet. Children and adolescents are exposed to all types of harmful content and condoning crimes”, warned the special advisor for Digital Rights at the Ministry of Justice, Estela Aranha.

Data on crimes against children and young people support the government’s launch. This year, the Federal Police have already carried out 627 operations, arrested 291 people and executed 633 search warrants. The increase in shares is 70% compared to last year’s numbers.

The reporting website is www.gov.br/deboanarede
