The Courts of Justice of Rio de Janeiro and Alagoas denied Petrobras appeals and maintained decisions that suspended natural gas price readjustments in the two states, according to information from distributors passed to the Brazilian Association of Pipeline Gas Distributors (Abegás).
The merits of the appeals will still be analyzed by the courts, explained the association, after being questioned.
The information was published earlier by the epbr agency, which also pointed out the failure of the state oil company to appeal against the suspension of the readjustment in Sergipe. This case, however, is under judicial secrecy and the distributor said it would not comment.
When contacted, Petrobras said it would not comment.
In addition to these three states, Ceará, Espírito Santo and Santa Catarina also won injunctions that suspended Petrobras’ gas adjustments. The oil company said at the end of the year that it would appeal the decisions.
