Justice makes defendant a lawyer who acted in the cases of Boate Kiss and Bernardo

Lawyer Jean Severo became a defendant after the Justice accepted a complaint made by the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul (MP-RS).

Severo is accused in a lawsuit that investigates crimes of money laundering, criminal organization and reception of a stolen vehicle with cloned license plates. The court accepted the complaint on Monday (28).

The lawyer is known for having acted in repercussion cases, such as those involving the Kiss nightclub and Bernardo Boldrini.

The complaint was initiated from an investigation by the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul in 2019.

According to the police, “various elements pointed out that the lawyer of one of the main leaders of the organization would play an important role within the criminal group”. “One can cite audio sent by the leader of the faction to his right arm, in which he described the hierarchy of the criminal group, identifying the functions of its members and highlighting to the lawyer the role of taking care of the group’s finances, maintaining communication with the rest of the faction, among other criminal actions”.

A CNN sought out the Public Security Secretariat of Rio Grande do Sul, which has not yet commented on the investigation.

Severus said to CNN who has not committed any crime. The lawyer said that he is calm about what happened and that he is sure that the Judiciary will acquit him.

“I am suffering a very clear persecution by the Civil Police and the Public Ministry”, he said. “I have a very strong job. It is a position that ends up displeasing these institutions. I absolve a lot of people. So they took advantage of a situation, a 2019 investigation, and reported me, ”he declared.
