Justice Minister denies having PF operation treaty on a trip with Bolsonaro

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Anderson Torres, said this Sunday (26) that he did not deal with Federal Police (PF) operations with President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on a trip to the United States.

“In the face of so much speculation about my trip with President Bolsonaro to the US, I categorically assure you that, at no time, we deal with PF operations. Absolutely none of this was the subject of any conversation of ours, on that trip”, said Torres in a post on Twitter.

On the day that former education minister Milton Ribeiro told his daughter that the president told him he had a “feeling” that he could be targeted by the Federal Police, Bolsonaro was with Torres, on a trip to the United States.

The PF is subordinate to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, currently headed by Anderson Torres. Ribeiro’s conversation with his daughter was one of the reasons that led the Federal Public Ministry to argue that there had been an attempt to interfere by President Jair Bolsonaro in the case.

Ribeiro’s conversation with his daughter took place on June 9, according to investigations. Bolsonaro, Torres and the rest of the presidential entourage went to the United States on the night of June 8. During the 9th, they fulfilled commitments in Los Angeles at the Summit of the Americas.
