Justice orders AGU and Petrobras to explain fuel rise in up to three days

The Federal Court of the Federal District gave 72 hours for the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) and Petrobras to explain the increase in fuel prices at refineries.

The request for the demonstration comes after a request for an injunction presented by the Mixed Parliamentary Front in Defense of Autonomous and Celetistas Truckers.

The Front, together with unions and associations of the categories, went to court to ask for the suspension of the fuel price increase announced by the state-owned company on Thursday (10). However, before judging the request, the 9th Court of the Federal District asked AGU and Petrobras to provide information within three days.

The front alleges that the readjustment of 18.8% in gasoline, 24.9% in diesel and 16.1% in cooking gas is “a stab at truck drivers”.

According to Deputy Nereu Crispim (União Brasil/RS), president of the parliamentary front, the truck drivers were betrayed by the Public Power and that is why it is necessary to intervene by the Justice.

The National Council of Road Cargo Transport, the Union of Autonomous Cargo Transporters of Guarulhos (SP) and the Union of Autonomous Cargo Transporters of Jundiaí (SP) sign the action. Sought, Petrobras and AGU have not yet manifested.
