Justice prosecutor escapes after six hours as a hostage in captivity in Greater SP

A public prosecutor managed to escape from captivity, in Osasco, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, after six hours of kidnapping, during the early hours of this Thursday (29).

The victim was approached by three criminals in the Vila Leopoldina neighborhood, in the western part of São Paulo, around 9 pm on Wednesday (28), while driving a BMW brand vehicle.

He was taken to a captivity in the neighboring town, where he remained tied up under the watch of the kidnappers. The others, according to his report to the police, left with the stolen car and the hostage’s cell phone.

Upon realizing that the criminal who was escorting him had fallen asleep, the prosecutor managed to untie himself and fled the scene. He was running through the streets of the Remédios neighborhood, in Osasco, when he was found by military police officers on patrol.

The PM welcomed the victim and located the captivity, where he found one of the kidnappers sleeping. The 21-year-old man was arrested and may answer for false imprisonment and illegal possession of a weapon.

With him, a 38 caliber revolver was found. The detainee had previously been arrested for robbery, when he was still a minor.

The victim’s car and cell phone, as well as his public prosecutor’s office card, have not yet been located. The PM is still looking for the other criminals who participated in the kidnapping.

The case will be investigated by the Civil Police. The crime was registered in the 5th Police District of Osasco.
