Justin Trudeau announced new sanctions against Russia

Canada announced new sanctions against it tonight of Russiawhile it will also send four more Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, as the prime minister said Justin Trudeau, in a speech marking the one year anniversary of the Russian invasion.

The new ones sanctions concern 129 persons and 63 entities. Among them are the vice presidents of the Russian government and other officials, Trudeau told reporters in Toronto.

THE Canada will also send an armored personnel carrier and over 5,000 missiles to help Kiev defend itself against Russia.

But today I am stronger and more united than ever,” the Canadian Prime Minister emphasized. “Putin is dangerous, he is cowardly and weak“, he added according to the Athens News Agency.
The first four tanks, which Canada had promised to Ukraine at the end of January, they have arrived in Poland and from there they will be forwarded to Kiev.

Ottawa will also ban the export of certain chemicals used in the production of electronics and the import, purchase or acquisition of Russian weapons.

Similar measures were announced earlier by the G7 member countries.

Washington also announced another military aid packageamounting to $2 billion, for Ukraine, as well as a series of sanctions and tariffs on metal products. The sanctions also concern third-country companies that allegedly supply Moscow with restricted goods.

Russia’s ambassador to Canada, Oleg Stepanov, called the sanctions “meaningless,” according to Russian news agency TASS. “Our citizens who are on the list are smiling when they see these measures. It is a sign of weakness on the part of the anti-Russian camp, which hates Russia but understands that we cannot be defeated,” he said.
