K. Frangogiannis: Greece’s trade with France increased by 8.6% in 2020

In his speech, Mr. Frangogiannis referred to the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between Greece and France, a country, as he said, with unshakable democratic institutions, with a stable economy, with a constant presence in all major forums and world organizations, with a strong military force.

In this context, the Undersecretary of State presented interesting economic data for the bilateral relations of the two countries, with the volume of their trade reaching in 2020, the highest level of the last 5 years, reaching 3.9 billion euros (increased by 8 , 6% compared to 2019). He underlined that Greece, according to the latest available data from Eurostat, records stable surpluses in the balance with France, while Greece’s receipts from France also appear upward.

Mr. Frangogiannis also pointed out the strong investment interest of France for the Greek market, with the stock of French foreign direct investment recording an increase of 15.3% between 2018 and 2019, according to the latest data from the Bank of Greece and 120 subsidiaries of French groups and companies operating in Greece.

Concluding his speech, Mr. Frangogiannis conveyed the government’s goal of further improving the above performance and strengthening the trade ties of the two countries, including through the greater penetration of Greek products in the French market and the consolidation of their commercial reputation in the French consumer. public.
